Who We Are

The Kopp Family Foundation was established in 1986 by Lee and Barbara Kopp.

Since its formation, the Foundation has made grants totaling more than $65 million, much of which has been directed to nonprofits organizations in Minnesota.

The Foundation recognizes the need to be responsive to changing conditions within the community while adhering to the core principles of our mission.

These core principles include:

  1. Helping individuals achieve success through education.
  2. Providing emergency assistance in the form of food, shelter, and transportation for those in need.
  3. Supporting nonprofit organizations that encourage youth development, address women’s issues and provide for the care and quality of life for the elderly.

We pledge to continue to cultivate our relationships with the many strong community based nonprofit organizations we support each year. We believe in leading by example and will continue to build a foundation for stewardship within our local community.
